CoreCare – Product Design

CoreCare - Dashboard MVP

The challenge

In spring 2025, CoreCare was looking for a designer to support the launch of a new product alongside their existing offering. The technical foundation was there, but no one had yet defined what the product should actually do — which users to design for, which workflows to support, and how to make dense clinical and insurance data actionable for the people processing referrals daily.

The process

We conducted numerous product discovery sessions with a wide range of users and SMEs to validate our assumptions and learn more about their workflows, pain points, and needs. In July, we also visited one of the key customers in Texas to gain deeper insight into the day-to-day realities of working referrals. As we worked toward launching Version 1, we received consistently positive feedback on our direction and concepts.
Meanwhile, the sales team successfully used the Figma prototype to attract and close new customers, resulting in 7 figures ARR.

What people say

“I’ve really enjoyed working with Emily. She’s thoughtful, pleasant to work with, and easy to collaborate with. In customer calls and product/design meetings, she is highly engaged and quickly turns feedback into modern UI designs that are clear, practical, and very user-friendly.
She thinks beyond the immediate request, often proposing a couple of directions, sharing early examples, and iterating fast based on input. She checks in with engineering early to keep ideas buildable, and she picked up our domain quickly by asking the right questions. I’d happily recommend her to any team looking for a great and reliable product designer.”

The iteration

After the V1 launch, we continued exploring our customers’ processes and translating new insights into ideas to further evolve the product. One insight that challenged our V1 flow was that we discovered referrals were often not only run for one facility but for multiple facilities. This meant we had to go back to the drawing board to figure out how to best support this. We explored several directions before landing on two complementary solutions: selecting multiple facilities upfront when running a referral, and allowing users with multi-facility access to re-run an existing referral for an additional facility after the fact. This kept the experience simple for users who only ever work within a single facility, while giving power users the flexibility they needed.
